Dialectics: A method of argument or exposition that systematically weighs contradictory facts or ideas with a view to the resolution of their real or apparent contradictions. It is an art or a practice of arriving at the truth by the exchange of logical arguments.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama has always encouraged the younger generation of students to take more interest in Buddhism by “studying its teachings through the science of debate and reasoning”. Following the advice given by His Holiness we have introduced the Dialectics class at our school in order for our students to have faith in Buddhism through reasoning and not by mere blind faith.
It was a unique blessing and an opportunity that a group of students under the mentorship of our Dialectics teacher Geshe Thupstan Dhondup from our school were chosen to present Buddhist dialectics during the 3 Day teaching by His Holiness the Dalai Lama at Jiwey Tsal Choglamsar.
We thank the organiser for this unique opportunity for our students and will be treasured by Lamdon family forever…
