Cycling has huge physical and mental benefits to an individual and this is no different for children. The cycling club at Lamdon was introduced by keeping the various benefits of cycling towards the children and the environment. Our star cyclist and coach of the cycle club Stanzin Wangldan of 9th Standard have been participating in all the major cycling competitions whenever opportunity kicks in and this time he participated in the Nubra Sports and Adventure Festival 2022 at Disket Nubra and won the Silk Route MTB Race XC ( Junior Category) bringing laurels to himself and to the whole school.
Cycling enthusiasts from across the Ladakh came together to participate in the Festival and the MTB races. Our boy Stanzin Wangldan participated and ultimately secured 1st position. He was awarded Gold medal, a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 8,000-/ in recognition of achieving excellence.
The whole school joined in facilitating him on his achievement. We are thankful to his parents, family and our school Physical Education teachers as well for their constant support and mentorship.
