Lamdon Dance Club students got an excellent opportunity to showcase not only their talent but also how they are extraordinary at the Ladakh Marathon 2023 closing ceremony’s Dance Competition. From a pool of 40 students of the Lamdon Dance Club, our skilled teachers selected 20 students on the basis of their dance skills.

However, as fate would have it, the performance date clashed with prior commitments for many of the chosen students, leading them to reluctantly withdraw. This left only 8 students, who wanted to withdraw from the competition. Their numbers were smaller, their spirits were undeterred.

Approaching the Principal, Dr. Stanzin Dawa, they voiced their concerns, obviously with their disappointment, wanting to withdraw. They worried about the formidable competition posed by larger groups. Our Principal Dr. Stanzin Dawa, shared words that resonated deeply with the students. He stressed that the essence of the competition lay in their participation, not in the outcome. Their friends should not determine what they cannot do without them rather they should perform despite their friends in the group. He urged them to embrace the journey itself, valuing the experience over the size of their group. He underscored they should forget about the competition and simply give their best performance without any sense of insecurity or fear. This act underscored our principal’s genuine concern for the students' growth and well-being, prioritizing them over any potential accolades for the school.

Fueled by this newfound determination, the students took the stage with renewed vigor, without the weight of expectations for a win. To their astonishment, they clinched the first prize, a testament to their sheer dedication and resilience.

Today, in the grandeur of the school Assembly, the Principal felicitated these students, making their journey a beacon for the entire school community. It serves as a shining example for every member, from students to teachers and non-teaching staff alike.

In addition to recognizing the incredible achievements of our dedicated students, it's essential to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of our choreographer and Dance Teacher, Padma Gyalson. His hard work, creativity, and unwavering dedication played a pivotal role in shaping the performance that left everyone in awe. His guidance and expertise were instrumental in bringing out the best in our students, and we owe a significant part of this victory to his exceptional choreography.

The pride we feel for these students knows no bounds. Their unyielding spirit and tenacity are an inspiration to us all. “We are proud that our students are not defined by the circumstances rather they redefined themselves by transforming the circumstances in their favour. They are champions and heroes of the school not because they stood in the first position but under what circumstances they performed” Said the Principal at the morning assembly.
