WINNERS OF FIT INDIA QUIZ FELICITATED AT THE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY

The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India launched the Fit India Movement in the year 2019 with an aim to make Physical Fitness a way of life. Towards achieving this mission, Fit India under the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs undertakes various initiatives and conduct events on large scale. One such event, the Fit India Quiz, aimed at providing a national platform for students to showcase their knowledge about fitness and sports was organised as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrating the 75 years of Independence. It is primed to be the first-of-its-kind nation-wide quiz on fitness and sports for school children with the main aim to create awareness among students about India's rich sporting history and to also tell them more about India's centuries-old indigenous sports and our national and regional sporting heroes.

At Lamdon, sports play an important role in furthering our vision and mission. As such, the athletics program is treated as an integral part of our educational curriculum, used to cultivate the intellectual, spiritual, and ethical promises of our students. With this firmly in our mind, we took the opportunity and registered our students for the Fit India Quiz 2022. In the preliminary round which saw the participation of around 36,299 students from 13,502 schools of India, one of our extraordinary student Ms. Kunga Gyalmo of 9th Standard topped the State in the Preliminary round qualifying the further rounds along with yet another talented student Ms. Rigzen Dolma of 10th Standard. They went on and qualified for the state finals and were finally declared the 1st Runner up winning a Cash Prize of Rs. 1 Lakh for the school and Rs. 10,000 for themselves.

They were honoured by our Principal Dr. Stanzin Dawa at the School Assembly today with a certificate of Achievement. The whole school extends our heartfelt congratulations to both Kunga Gyalmo and Rigzen Dolma for this achievement and bringing laurels to the school. We sincerely appreciate both of your efforts and enthusiasm and hopes that it will encourage all the other students in participating in such competitions in the future. Our sincere appreciation to our PET's Ms. Rinchen Dolma, Ms. Tashi Dolker, Mr. Rinchen Dorjey and Mr. Stanzin Leksdup for constantly mentoring these two students right from the beginning of the quiz.
