In todays era, youth empowerment is a top priority everywhere. At Lamdon, the various clubs are formed especially for the students to unleash their potential to become actors of positive change in their communities. One such is the sports club and the team members under the guidance of the Principal and the school administration is giving their heart and soul in providing a safe space for the young children to share values and a team spirit that will enable them to enjoy a happy life.
The School administration is committed to provide and develop a world class infrastructure in terms of sports for the students to acquire these much needed skills and talents. Therefore, during the pandemic when the school remained empty without the student, we took the opportunity in developing, restructuring and levelling the School Multipurpose playground and constructed a new Handball court for the students.
After a long wait, the Lamdon School Handball court was officially inaugurated today by the District Youth services and Sports officer, Leh Shri. Tsering Tashi, in the presence of our Principal Dr. Stanzin Dawa, the school faculty and the students. The construction committee of the school consisting of experienced members supervised the entire construction process and it has been developed with best-in-class landscaping and provision of play areas.
With the inauguration of this handball court, it is yet again a spark to launch the development of the entire Sports infrastructure and facilities at the school. It is an ideal stepping stone for the school to qualify for the Games and tournaments at various State and national levels. The School administration is working very close with the Lamdon Social Welfare Society to train and develop our students with state of the art sports facilities.
We look forward for many matches in the future on this court.
